Welcome To The Young Voices Club

I fell in love with words at 10 years old and haven't looked back since. I want to pass that love on to other kids and I am so excited to be sharing the Young Voices Club.

The Young Voices Club is a one of a kind in-person writing camp where kids ages 9-12 get to express themselves, grow their confidence, and become published authors. Each child will get a professionally printed book that includes their very own poem or short story. Something they can hold, be proud of, and share with the world.

It's part summer camp, part creative writing workshop, and part magic.

What Makes The Camp Different

PUBLISHED AUTHOR EXPERIENCE: Your child won't just write, they'll be published. Each camper contributes a polished piece to a printed anthology, designed and produced right here in Calgary.

NURTURING & INSPIRING ENVIRONMENT: Led by local author and creative mentor, Samantha Laycock, this camp blends creativity, fun, and skill-building in a space where kids feel safe to explore their voice.

HANDS-ON FUN: From storytelling games and writing walks to art-based writing prompts and celebration days, kids will want to come back each summer.

REAL WRITING TOOLS: Campers will learn the same storytelling techniques, poetic devices, and writing prompts used by real authors. In a way that is fun, accessible, and empowering.
